This may seem silly to you, but I found out Austin is the only place in Texas that it's okay for women to walk around topless. They got this on the ground that guys go around shirtless, so they should be allowd to as well.
People in France don't use to have the air conditioning so we suffered very mush during this summer. You couldn't find anymore ventilators in the supermarkets! I decided to command one on the French Amazon website, and it was almost the same problem: people had already buy the cheapest ventilators! The only ones that were available couldn't be delivered before two weeks.
In the big towns it's rare to see men going around shirtless in the streets, even if the weather is hot: it's better tolerated when you are near a water point, near the sea or the river. But it's impossible to see a topless woman in a town: that's prohibited. I was really angry this summer because of this stupid law! I really thought I would be transformed into a puddle... And impossible to wear a bikini or a swimsuit at home: my window was face to a building where people worked until 8:00PM!

It was made by two women in Paris, whose one is Muslim, near the government and French politics buildings (Ministry of Defense, Ministry of Immigration... and even the headquarter of the Socialist Party!) to protest against the last joke of our "dear" Government: a law against the niqab (the integral veil). Soon it will be prohibited to wear a niqab in the French streets. Of course these two women are against the niqab (me too!) since they think it's a sort of jail that doesn't respect the women body, a sort of submission, but they are against the latest law too, because they think it destroys the people liberty and it stigmatizes the French muslim community. I agree with them. I don't think a law is the solution: education would be a better idea. In France some stupid men want their wives wear a niqab, but there are women too who aren't married and who wear this big veil because they want it, and not because someone has forced them (some French white women converted to Islam for example)... It's a complicated problem.
I didn't realize it was only near beaches that women can go topless, seeing as here, women can't go topless unless they are at a nude beach. I guess you learn something new each day.
That video was pretty funny. But I understand what you mean about ne niqab, it should be a choice rather then to be forced on either option. It's a sad state people are in over Muslims in there area. Two things that where really stupid lately,
1) Terror Babies, the idea that Pregnet Muslim women come to America, have a baby (making it a US citizen) then take it back to their home to train them to be terrorist, so they can later enter the country as US citizens.

People actually though it was true. No one once stopped to think on how that would not work.

2) There was this big dispute over building a Muslim place of worship a few blocks from Ground Zero of "9/11". And the fight went that Muslims said they where not allowed to practice their 1st Amendment (Freedom of Speech, Press, Religion, Assembly) by now being able to build the place. Where as alot of people saw it as a insult, and many believed it was relaly a Terrorest training place.
I can see both side, minus the Racist Terrorest bit, but it seem so stupid that no one could just sit down and rationally talk it over.
Since few months I noticed some things had changed, even on dA: now you can see some people who don't like anymore Obama, there is more and more (stupid) deviations against your president... Even these famous tea parties look having invaded this website...

This user profiles use to insult socialism. It's a shame for me. They don't realize they insult Europeans socialists with this type of deviations, they have so much prejudices, they don't manage to make the difference between sovietism and the social democracies... That's so crazy. Clearly Obama isn't a socialist. They should come here to see what is a real socialist or a communist. I like Obama, and even if he's not enough socialist for me, I think his reforms can be good for the Americans. It's a good starting. I hope in the future people will realize he had finally good ideas!
In France too you can see some things had changed about Obama. Last month I found an online French jewish journal that explained that Obama is muslim. *Sigh*! So much ignorance...
Do you think a democrat will be still elected for the next presidential elections? (2012, right?)
But yeah those Tea Party people think they know what right, when really they are full of shit.
Plus Obama has a unfair run as President, seeing as he can't go a few weeks with out some stupid rumor about him going. How can any one get anything working with people fighting him every step of the way.
I mean Bush was arrested for cocain and yet we still elected him twice.
